yes, yes you should be trimming your wicks! our wick trimmers are small (6.8" long) and lightweight, and perfectly formulated for wood wicks  

how & when to trim: trim your wicks each time before lighting your candle. wood wicks should be around 1/8" at an even length. don't trim while your candle is lit or while the wax is hot.

we do not recommend these trimmers for cotton wicks.
